Yeavering: Brian Hope-Taylor

Brian Hope-Taylor was a renowned archaeologist whose name was long associated with Yeavering, which he excavated between 1952 and 1962. Shortly after his death in 2001 a number of obituaries appeared.

We are grateful to Professor James Graham-Campbell of the Institute of Archaeology in London, for granting permission to reproduce an obituary written by him for The Independent.
