Forcegarth: Potboiler reconstructions

Pot boilers were found in great quantities on the site and were used for boiling soups and stews in pots. You would heat up the stone in the fire until it was hot then put it in the pot to boil the contents. They were often reused as inner walling material after they had been used in cooking.
