Low Hauxley Archive: Articles

The discovery of such an interesting site as Low Hauxley and its contents sparked the interest of the local and national press.

Newspaper articles are important elements of any archaeological archive because, in addition to being an historic record, they are usually written as the site is being excavated and so offer a very good 'first person' account of the excavations themselves. To see the list of academic reports follow the link below the list.

Old bones see new light after 3,500 years underground", from 'The Journal', 3 Nov. 1993

"Bodies on the Beach", from 'Archaeology in Northumberland', 1993-4
