Low Hauxley Archive
Many sources of original information were used to reconstruct the Bronze Age burial at Low Hauxley. This section
provides some background to the evidence behind the reconstructions.
The reports of the excavations by Tyne and Wear Museums and Lancaster University, as well as specialist reports,
have all provided vital clues about what the site looked like in the Bronze Age, the person who was buried there,
and the activities of earlier people at Low Hauxley. You can see a selection of these reports, some of the artefacts
and a video taken during the excavations.
For more information, please see our contact page.
The contents of the archive are presented in context throughout the site so that you can, for example, link from the
reconstruction of the burial to a photograph of the cist under excavation. However, the archive content list allows
you to see the entire archive at a glance.
