Conservation Request Form

A conservation request form, used during the excavations at Thrislington in 1973. This form lists a number of iron objects that were sent to English Heritage's Ancient Monuments Laboratory for conservation work.

Objects such as a spur, a chain and several other metal artefacts were sent to this laboratory where they were x-rayed, cleaned, restored and conserved from further decay. Many are now on display at the Bowes Museum.
