X-ray Plate with Metal Objects
An x-ray of metal objects found at Thrislington showing the chain and belt buckle. Archaeologists x-ray some small finds
(particularly those of iron) because it helps them to see the basic shape of metal objects that are otherwise corroded lumps
of rust. A clear x-ray provides archaeological conservators with a great deal of information without harming the object at all.
See an x-ray of other small-finds from Thrislington.
