Detail of Lady's costume with Chatelaine

This reconstruction shows a chatelaine, reconstructed from a fragment found during excavations at Thrislington. A chatelaine was a device worn attached to a belt from which a lady could hang the various keys she would use around the manor house.

See reconstruction of the decorations lady would have been wearing, return to solar or see the chatelaine found during excavations .
