"Right. Punched in. Collected any drills or equipment that was needed. Caddy. Caddy full of powder. Your lamp. Oh no, you had your lamp. Because it was carbide lamps then. Every so many men had to carry�One in every six, had to carry one of those �Glennies� for testing for gas. Then you went down the cage, walked inbye, probably an hour I would say, to the place of work. The coal had been filled off, and the drawers were advancing the belt, and we had to advance the roadways."
