List of animal species excavated in cottages
The animal bones found during the excavation of the cottage areas (tofts) were analysed by archaeozoologists,
and they compiled this list of number of bones belonging to each animal species. This allows us to see what animals they
were using (and eating) on various parts of the site, and what animals may have been living there unnoticed.
This list includes ravens, rodents, deer, duck and even human bones. Compare this list with the list of animal remains found in the manor area,
return to the reconstruction of the cottages, or
see some of the cattle whose bones were found on the site.
