The Altar and Chancel

This image shows the altar in greater detail. The altar of the chapel stood within the chancel, and was probably a simple wooden table that would have been covered in a coloured or precious cloth. The altar here is shown with two candles, and you can see here a jug, chalice and paten for use in the mass. Also visible is a leather-bound bible, which probably would have belonged to the family.
