The Lord's Dais
A dais is a raised platform or slightly elevated area. This image shows the lord's table positioned at the dais, elevating the lord
both literally and symbolically. At his dais the lord will have eaten , held court, and been entertained.
This image shows some of the objects the lord may have had at his table: candlesticks, food and drink, a gaming board and writing
equipment.
The lord also would have been entertained by musicians: see some of the musical instruments,
or go return to the main hall.
