Wark Castle: Wardle and Nolan report

This report was commissioned by Northumberland County Council during works to consolidate the remains of the medieval castle. As a result of this work the archaeologists have suggested that the surviving remains can be made to fit quite closely the plan produced by Rowland Johnson in 1561. The castle was therefore quite small in extent as you can see opposite.
