Wark Castle: Cannon
When Wark Castle was threatened with attack from the Scots in the 16th century, it was defended by cannon.
An inventory of the garrison and ordnance, dated 1545, lists the men and ordnance of the castle, including the name of
the Wark gun captain, John Carr.
