Wark Castle: Robert Bowes' Book of the State of the Frontiers and Marches, 1551

Sir Robert Bowes wrote this book in 1551 at the request of the Marquis of Dorset. It describes the then current state of the border frontier between England and Scotland. The book is held in the British Library manuscript collection and is indexed as Cotton Titus F XIII f145, f145v and f146.
