Wark Castle: Letter from the Earl of Surrey to Henry VIII, 1523

The Earl of Surrey wrote this letter to Henry VIII from his camp at Wark on Tweed on 3rd November 1523. It is a report of the Duke of Albany's attack on Wark, together with how he was repelled and finally his retreat. The letter is held in the British Library manuscript collection and is indexed as Cotton Caligula B VI, f354, f354v, and f355.
